Challenges
Upon being hired for this role, I was informed by FanFindr founder Juliet Sonnenburg that she was looking to improve a main red route taken by users that involved its dashboard, alongside visually improving the interface while providing an intuitive, easily navigable experience. Juliet wanted a design system to send push notifications to notify users of specific sporting events while also giving a way for users to leave anonymous reviews on restaurants and bars.
Approach
Our team's approach to kick-starting this project was to first recognize why the previously designed dashboard and interface resulted in poor user metric data. Afterward, use that insight to perform some A/B testing with a few wireframes to see what users gravitated to most. Research and reiteration would be two main components in ensuring the success of the project.

User Feedback
Can you tell me the differences between the 2 navigation bars?
Participant 1: "Version A seems more standard but I like how B looks."
Participant 2: "B has a sidebar, more intuitive for mobile UI."
Participant 3: "Version A has more visual effect and Version B is very clean."
Participant 4: "A has that gradient box around the first section, B buttons are not filled in."
What is your preference, and why?
Participant 1: "I prefer A because there’s better use of space while B feels more squished and condensed. It looks like it’s too much/too busy if B is filled up with tabs though."
Participant 2: "I would choose A for desktop, elements are less cluttered and laid out, more pleasing to the eye."
Participant 3: "I prefer A because it has less white space and looks more fun."
Participant 4: "I would choose B, it’s cleaner. I don’t like the gradient for A."
Reiteration / High-Fidelity Wireframes
A new dashboard and drop-down menu to improve discoverability and navigation for a more natural and intuitive feel for all users.
Push notification feature set to allow restaurant & bar owners the ability to send notifications of special sporting events to local users.
Anonymous review feature designed for users who want to keep their reviews hidden.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Fanfindr highlighted the importance of user-centered design principles in creating effective digital experiences. By prioritizing user needs, conducting thorough research, and iterating designs based on feedback, the project achieved its objectives of enhancing usability, delivering anonymous reviews, and allowing restaurants and bars to send push notifications to users. Our team was also successful in developing a new user-friendly intuitive dashboard for users. Continuous evaluation and refinement were essential for ensuring the long-term success and relevance of the product in meeting evolving user expectations and business goals.
